About PDF Tools
PDF is the universal document format for sharing, printing, and archiving content that needs to maintain its visual formatting across all devices and operating systems. But working with PDF files often requires operations — merging multiple documents, splitting out specific pages, rotating scanned pages, or converting pages to images — that traditionally required expensive desktop software or unreliable online services that upload your files to remote servers.
Our PDF Tools suite handles the most common PDF operations directly in your browser using PDF.js (Mozilla's open-source PDF renderer) for page previews and pdf-lib for manipulation. Six tabs cover the whole workflow. Compress shrinks the file losslessly by stripping metadata and repacking its internal objects. Merge brings up to 20 PDF files together in any order you specify. Split either extracts the pages you list or breaks the document into fixed-size chunks. Rotate fixes pages that were scanned sideways, one page at a time or all at once. Delete Pages removes the pages you pick from a thumbnail grid. PDF to Image renders pages to JPG or PNG at 72, 150 or 300 DPI.
Because all processing happens locally, this tool is safe to use with confidential contracts, medical records, financial statements, and any other sensitive documents you would not want to upload to an unknown third-party server. The files remain entirely on your device throughout every operation.
How to Use PDF Tools
- 1Pick an operation from the tabs — Compress, Merge, Split, Rotate, Delete Pages, or PDF to Image.
- 2For Compress: drop the PDF in and choose Low, Medium or High before compressing.
- 3For Merge: add up to 20 PDF files and drag the rows to reorder them before combining.
- 4For Split: either type the pages to extract (e.g. 1, 3, 5-8) or switch to chunk mode and set how many pages go in each file.
- 5For Rotate: rotate every page at once with 90° Left, 90° Right or 180°, or click the arrows on individual page thumbnails.
- 6For Delete Pages: click the thumbnails of the pages you want removed, then download the trimmed document.
- 7For PDF to Image: choose JPG or PNG, set the DPI (72, 150 or 300) and the JPG quality, and convert all pages or just the ones you list.
- 8Click the action button and download the resulting file when processing completes.

No. Once you download the modified PDF, the changes are permanent in that file. Your original file is never modified — all operations create a new output file.
